MetisShield is being built by Ed Green.

This is a new company, not a rebrand of a SOC that already exists. Ed Green is the owner. There is no staff roster to publish, because there is no staff yet. A biography, a photograph, prior employers, and prior clearances are not on this page. Inventing them would be worse than leaving them off. When Ed writes a bio, it replaces this paragraph.

The practice sells managed security to firms of about 5–250 people: endpoint detection, identity detection for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, log monitoring, awareness training, and a Microsoft 365 posture review. Law firms are the starting niche. Accounting firms and dental practices can use the same offer. Dental and other healthcare work waits on a business associate agreement.

Monitoring and response are run by our own team on our own open-source stack. At the start, that team is Ed Green. Continuous automated monitoring, with on-call response. We will not describe the company as a 24/7 staffed SOC until the rota is real. The sentence on the home page is the one a contract should repeat.

Ed chose the name MetisShield. In Greek myth, Metis is the figure of wise counsel. The shield is the other half of the job: watch the firm, and act only inside authority the firm has written down. The domain is metisshield.com. A trademark search is still open, so the name is not presented here as a registered mark. Other names were set aside earlier because the domains were taken or the words already belonged to security companies.
